Unlike Garry, she doesn't express or show her feelings very much. She is also very sensitive to others, as she felt sorry for Mary when she had to leave her behind.
Ib is clearly frightened of the cursed gallery during the cutscene showing her nightmare.
After certain extremely tense moments, Ib expresses her affection physically, as she hugs Garry on two separate occasions. When the cursed gallery's events starts to ominously involve those who are significant to Ib (namely, her parents and later, Garry, with varying events depending on the player's route), Ib's mental state appears to be disturbed, as she expresses concern during those moments. It is unknown whether she is simply too young and naive to identify when certain things are out of the ordinary or if she has the capability of not being affected emotionally, which prevents her from becoming overwhelmed.īut she is truly very kind, compassionate, and emotional on the inside. Most of the time, she seems to have an unusual mental immunity to surreal events that would normally result in trauma. However, Ib is shown as reticent, reserved, and vacantly unreadable.
The player's choices of her personality affect the game's ending (the choices the player makes affect the way Ib talks to and acts towards Garry or Mary). She seems to be shown with not much emotion, but kouri has drawn some of Ib's reactions to things. Ib's personality varies depending on the player's choices. In the Safe Room, Garry compliments her fashion sense.Īlso in the True Guertena Exhibit, in one of Mary's conversations with Ib, she notes that her hair is very silky. In the True Guertena Exhibit, during one of Garry's conversations with Ib, he notes that she appears to be skinny, wonders if she's eating properly and tells her to make sure she's eating nutritious foods. Her attire is very similar to a school uniform. She also wears black knee-high socks and red shoes with white soles and adorned with a small red bow on the top of each shoe. She wears a white long-sleeved blouse adorned with a red ribbon, similar to the blue scarf that Mary wears, and a knee-length pleated red skirt that matches her neckerchief. If you like indie horror games such as The Witch’s House and Mad Father, then this is a highly recommended title.Ib is a nine-year-old girl with brown hair and red eyes. Mostly, you’ll just have to fix the bugs caused by the unstable RPG Maker 2000 runtime-and its solution something well-documented by both language versions for everyone’s convenience. There aren’t many issues with the game itself. A beloved horror gameĪll in all, Ib really deserves the praise and love it’s garnered for how well its story and gameplay were delivered. This is why this indie game is well-loved by RPG Maker horror fans. There are jump scares and creepy scenes but the endings themselves really hammer in the fear. This all ties in with this game’s stellar writing and story pacing, as the horror elements found can be cruel and unforgiving to all characters. The endings will depend on the actions you choose and how close you’ve gotten to your two companions in relation to your choices. You have 7 endings you can achieve by simply saving and loading. There are no combat mechanics so you can only run and evade them. However, you need to be alert as deadly traps and hostile creatures will often come after you-and you lose if your health reaches zero. Created with RPG Maker 2000, this indie game is played in a top-down view and mostly requires you to interact with objects to progress the story.
